Film Night & Discussion – The launch of Open Minds Quarterly’s special issue on PTSD & the Military
On Thursday, July 29, come out to see where writing meets the most critical issues of today. Join Open Minds Quarterly at the launch of its special summer issue, "PTSD: Wounded in the Line of Fire." A film presentation and panel discussion about Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder in military personnel and others affected by war will be coupled with reading from the magazine. Location: Rainbow Cinemas. Time: 7 p.m. Tickets: $15.00 (includes a free one-year subscription to Open Minds Quarterly, delivered to your home). NISA members get in free for volunteering at the event.
New Art Class: “Learn to Draw Your Own Super Hero or Super Heroine”
NISA is proud to sponsor a “Learn to Draw Your Own Super Hero or Super Heroine” workshop series taught by one of our resident artists, Kevin Beck. This workshop is free to NISA members with a $5.00 deposit which will be returned after completion of the 6-week workshop. Non-members of all ages are also welcome for a fee of $85.00 which includes the materials required for the course. There is limited space, so register today!
