Writers’ Circle Workshops + Drop-In Support
Writers’ Circle Workshops
Using the popular Amherst Method, the Writers’ Circle will create an encouraging learning and writing space for beginning and experienced writers alike. Our first two meetings will focus on short stories and personal essays. There will be explanation and discussion of how the Amherst Method works, narrative writing and reflective writing. After the discussion, we will spend time writing. Participants can follow a prompt or write something else if they wish, and after writing can choose to read their work aloud and receive feedback.
The Writers’ Circle will meet twice monthly, and participants can join at any time. It is not necessary to attend every meeting. This workshop is best suited to people who can read and write with pen and paper or on their personal laptop, with little to no assistance.
January Workshops are Tuesday the 17 at 11am and the 31st at 11am.
Members interested in writing and other forms of storytelling are invited to sign up to visit Sarah to propose workshops or groups, get editorial assistance with their personal writing or storytelling projects, work through writing lessons one-to-one, or plan guest speakers, film screenings and special events.
There is a schedule on Sarah’s door, and members can add their name to an appointment slot or to just drop in, if the slot is empty. In January, appointments will be available Tuesday afternoons between 1 and 3, beginning January 10th. More appointment hours will be available in future months.
