This week is all about actively engaging with others on all issues related to mental health awareness and advocacy. See below for what is happening each day at NISA! Get involved for your own well-being, as well as for the benefit of others!
NISA's first big fundraiser of the year, the 2nd Annual Yogathon for Mental Health, is happening on Sunday, April 2, from 8am-1pm at the Caruso Club. Designed to be accessible for all experience levels and a community and mental health-building day, this will be a wonderful wellness-oriented event for all. Click here for all the details!
Here at NISA we are helping to mark, honour, and celebrate International Women's Week March 6-10. On the schedule, and open to the public, are a Writing Workshop, Baking, a Women's Talk, and a full-day Women's Introduction to our technology-focused Northern Computer Recycling Depot program.
This week, NISA is thrilled to be offering FREE spoken word writing workshops geared to anyone looking to develop new creative approaches to (poetry) writing, and comfort and skills in performance art. The workshops will be run by Tanya Neumeyer, a mental health peer with 10 years experience in writing and teaching poetry. Click here for all the details on registering now for this special event.
We are seeking interest from Sudbury-based artists who want to be considered for an 8-week consultation opportunity beginning in July 2017. We are seeking artists who have an interest in community art programs, art’s role in health outcomes, and social action. Interested? Click here for more details on putting your name forward for this opportunity.
In this new group we will produce stories, gather images and ephemera that add depth to the stories, prepare our narratives for digitization through scripting and storyboarding, film or record the stories and edit them for web presentation.
NISA is pleased to announce its collaboration with TAO Tel-Aide to promote access to French language services for the people of Northeastern Ontario living through a difficult situation. For more information on this partnership please click on the following...
