Quilting Events and New Skills Training
This month offers opportunities for beginner to advanced quilters to develop skills and collaborate on new projects. Offered this month are:
Tuesdays at 1pm: Beginner Quilting Sessions
A chance for folks who perhaps have never touched a sewing machine but would like to learn, and eventually make a quilt, to gain those skills from experienced memebrs on-call in the quilting room.
Wednesday, September 7 at 10am: Warm hearts/Warm Bodies Clean-Up
Specifically, we will be going through the sewing fabric and organizing the materials, patterns, and colours for speedier access. If you are an active member in the sewing room please come help out!
Tuesday, September 13 to Thursday September 12 at 1pm: Making the Fall Art Show Quilt
Here, members will design and collaborate on making the quilt which will appear in this years Fall Art Show, themed Northern Ontario, and set at the Northern Water Sports Centre, October 1-9.
Monday, September 19 at 2pm: Northern Star Placemats Workshop
Lead by Haja, you will learn how to cut and sew fabric into star-shaped patterns, and you will use this new skill as part of a making dining room or decorative placemats.
Monday, September 26 at 10am: Tote bags
Haja will assist members in designing and making two-sided personalized tote bags.
