Project Description

New Art Workshops

Two unique evening workshops are scheduled this month, part of an overarching project we are running this year, called Gaze UP. The concept came out of some brainstorming sessions with NISA artists in early March where we identified our large artistic goals for the following year. Goals included turning to new forms of expression that both reflect our strengths, experiences through recovery, and reflect the uniqueness of our northern identities.

In the first workshop, participants will be making Rock Bass, in the second, you’ll be creating and designing Birdhouses. Both sessions will be facilitated by the endlessly creative and talented, local artist and member, Ray Laporte. The end products will be featured in our Fall Art Show, with the option to sell your creations in the community, at this show.

Rock Bass: Tuesday, August 9: 6-9 pm

Birdhouse Project: Tuesday, August 23 and Wednesday August 24: 6-9 pm

To register for either of these events, contact Audrey at 705-222-6472 ext. 314 or at aobrien@nisa.on.ca.
